Sometimes I really shock myself how much I school myself on my personal struggles.

locals only

you attract a multitude of fresh transplants
all so quick to praise and call it their own
then you got your locals
all so trained to remain loyal and true
to the city they claim to have made them
who is the highest in validity?
does it matter and mean anything to be so proud in the space you inhabit?

as for me, it always works its way back to locals
because they're confident in the way the divides work
where to avoid because they all know what is to be expected

"born and raised", we all say so confidently...

and with your keen eyes and skilled bones,
you rule the scissor, chopping away the weight my thick and coarse hair
has left me in the span of five months.
